Holy Himalaya Yoga Adventure
29th October-12th November 2020
£1600 shared £1850 single supplement doesn’t include flights to India
Come and join me on this beautiful journey into the wilderness of the Kumaon district of the Himalayas, a holy and sacred place where we will deepen our practice and also trek to some utterly breathtaking spiritual sites, meeting yogis, devotees and local hill people on the way. We travel to Delhi spending just one night there on the way before taking the overnight train up into the mountains. From there we travel by jeep to the sublime Dunagiri retreat run by lovely Piyush Kumar who is a true visionary.
Accommodation will be in shared rooms to 2 people (single room supplement is available) which are built using traditional methods to ecologically high standards. All rooms have beautiful views of the surrounding countryside and the house and cottages blend into the beautiful Kumaon environment.
Because this is a wild place, there is much evidence of wildlife. We will be sharing our habitat with leopards, bears, porcupines and bandicoots.Eagles soar above us as we practice outdoors and the sound of many mountain birds is our soundtrack.
Food is lovingly prepared by Panditji and his team and sattvic organic food is served to support the practices.
We practice every morning outside on the terrace, and eat breakfast al fresco. We take walks each day which become progressively longer as the stay goes on.
We will visit amazingly powerful temples and spiritual sites, including the famous Babajis cave(See Paramahansas “Autobiography of a yogi) and we also get to meet local families and schoolchildren and learn about their way of life. There are still wandering yogis in the Himalayas and one of them sometimes comes to stay in a special hut at Dunagiri. He is a source of inspiration to all around him and you may get to meet him and experience this too.
We will also trek in enchanted forests and around the hills to glimpse the majestic Himalayas in the distance.
As it will be springtime everything will be beautiful and in bloom, and we will be able to sample special rhododendron tea!
This will be my fourth adventure to Dunagiri and I can’t recommend it enough. It is more than just a yoga holiday or even retreat, it is a life changing experience. You will be inspired and uplifted by the kindness and openness of the people in this district as well as getting an opportunity to have an independent travel experience supported by a seasoned India traveller(Me!!)
This is really a journey of a lifetime on which I hope you will find a practice for life.
Price excludes flight to India but includes all other costs except for meals in Delhi.

I am deeply impressed by Jane and Lou’s dedication to teaching yoga and the help they provide to individuals. It has been especially helpful to be reminded of the therapeutic aspects of the asanas and the importance of the breath. The meditative aspects of the practice have complemented the physical poses extremely well. jane and Lou are excellent teachers, caring hosts and also great fun to be around. Thank-you, ‘

She studies with them and their son Ganesh in India as well as continuing online study of the Yoga Sutras. She is currently undertaking Yoga Therapy Training with Ganesh Mohan and has completed ayurvedic studies with the Ayurvedic Institute and ayurvedic therapist training in India.
Jane teaches therapeutic , specialist classes in Greater Manchester and is a board and faculty member of Yogacampus Teacher Training. This therapeutic practice is simple and accessible and can be applied to all individuals for peace of mind and a healthy body.
Louise Tanner
Louise had her first experience of Yoga in her 30’s, being fortunate in
finding classes with two gifted local teachers Emma Lloyd and then Jane Craggs. She expected to find an interesting form of exercise but through their classes she experienced much more… she has not stopped practicing since!
Louise explored many different types of yoga and completed a three-year teaching diploma in 2006 with the British Wheel of Yoga. Then, in 2007, she had the wonderful opportunity to complete intensive teacher training with the Mohan family (A.G. Mohan, Indra Mohan and Ganesh Mohan), this was a life changing experience. Since then Louise continues her studies with these dedicated and compassionate teachers, visiting India to study with them and following their on-line study course.
Louise is committed to sharing the fulfilling practice of yoga with as many people as possible regardless of their age, shape, size, race, religion… This therapeutic practice is for everyone; through yoga we can free ourselves from destructive mental behaviours and live healthy, fulfilled lives.

Testimonials
Jane’s classes have made me realise that yoga is all about kindness, and have given me the inspiration and confidence to begin self-practise at home. I feel more grounded and relaxed, and more able to take a step back at difficult times.
